This segment shows how William Beauchamp, Baron of Elmeley married Isabell, sister and heir of the Earl of Warwick. They had three children, William Beauchamp who became Earl of Warwick, Walter Beauchamp whose line is followed through the rest of the genealogy, and John Beauchamp. The little heraldic doodles show the coat of arms of William Beauchamp, gules with a bend or (red with a gold stripe in plain English), his wife Isabell, and those of the three sons who each added elements from the arms of their wives to the relatively plain design of their father. That of the Earl of Warwick is surmounted by a coronet. Some of the later annotation appears at the bottom left. |
