Unlike the older form of English charter, the dating clause is at the top. While there is a witness clause indicating how the document is authenticated, there is no list of independent witnesses. The parties have authenticated the document by seal and autograph mark. The fitting of this sheet with the other half of the pair also constitutes a form of authentication. |
